BerniePortal, the all-in-one HRIS for small and mid-sized businesses, hosted its second annual users conference, Weekdays with Bernie, in Nashville from March 25-27, 2019, bringing hundreds of benefits professionals for industry best practices, networking and thought leadership.
Weekdays with Bernie featured a great lineup of speakers, including distinguished healthcare thought leaders such as keynote speaker Senator Bill Frist. The former Senate Majority Leader and renowned heart and lung surgeon covered ‘The Skyrocketing Cost of Healthcare,” sharing his thoughts on the rate of unsustainable healthcare spending, including administrative, utilization and care prices. Frist shared innovative, private sector solutions for lowering the rate of spending, including telehealth, home-based care, and AI.
“Healthcare with no address needs to be the goal,” Frist said. “We can use innovation and technology and creativity to do just that, and to be able to say the hospital of the future is in the home.”
Weekdays with Bernie also featured sessions on several headline benefits topics, including “Reference-Based Pricing 2.0” by Lester Morales of Next Impact LLC, which covered evolving healthcare reimbursements from employer plans.
Other key sessions included ‘Growing Your Book of Business,’ from Nashville-based sales expert John Boyens and “No Try Life” from entrepreneurial coach Andy Bailey.
During the conference, BerniePortal founder Alex Tolbert made several exciting announcements, including the launch of the BerniePortal Broker Network.
