Survey Says: More HR Pros Depending on HR Tech, Prioritizing Retention

Nashville, Tenn. — From continuing COVID challenges to the “Great Resignation,” the last year disrupted the way we work...again. 

So, in 2022, human resources professionals at small to midsize businesses are depending more and more on HR software to navigate a challenging labor market and a changing regulatory landscape, according to a recent BerniePortal survey.

The State of HR 2022 survey—conducted by all-in-one HRIS BerniePortal by surveying 100 HR pros—suggests that HR teams will continue to rely on technology to automate tasks in order to focus on more strategic roles like retention, recruitment, and training.

 

Survey Takeaways

Key survey findings include: 

  • 59% of respondents are an HR Party of One within their organization.
  • The vast majority of respondents (83%) said their organization uses HR software in some capacity.
  • Of organizations who rely on HR tech, most use it for administering benefits (68%) and tracking time and attendance (57%).
  • Even though relatively fewer use HR software for applicant tracking (38%) and performance management (31%), many respondents still said their primary goals for 2022 related to recruitment (45%) and retention (58%).
