Change isn't easy

As an administrator, you probably know that implementing change in any capacity can be difficult. Most people like things the way they are—not the way they could be. But, as you know, change is inevitable and transitioning to a time and attendance platform is no different. Learn how to implement attendance software with your staff:

Do your research

This selection process is an opportunity to strengthen a partnership between employee and administrator rather than just an effort to manage the masses. Invest time to research time and attendance software options, so that the solution you pick not that not only meets your needs, but also your employees needs. Survey employees for existing time and attendance problems or complications—employees will respond more enthusiastically to a system that addresses their own concerns surrounding time and attendance.

Learn before you teach

Managers and administrators should be proficient in software before ever implementing with bulk of the workforce. Take time to learn the nuances of your system so that if a problem comes up, you know the appropriate course of action. This time spent learning, will instill confidence in your staff that your decision to implement was thoughtfully planned. Likewise, acquaint yourself with the support structure you choose. Understand the level of service available from your system provider as well as what steps should be taken to find a solution.

Explain your choice

Your employees will need more than an email to get on board with your new time and attendance system. Make time to communicate your choice to your employees. Again, you should focus on how your new time and attendance solves mutual challenges...not just administrative ones.

Demonstrate the software

Establish a time in which administration presents the new software to employees. While it may feel like you are explaining the obvious, it’s important to remember that this demonstration is the first time your employees have seen the system. Be clear of your expectations of how and when the time and attendance system should be used.
